Mission Leader Conference and Wild Animals
Dakar, Senegal
Our responsibilities as Execuitve Secretaries for the Africa West Area include planning and organizing Mission Leader Seminars twice a year for 26 Mission Leader couples from missions all over West Africa. Next year we will add seven new missions!
The Mission Leader Seminar this year was held in Senegal, West Afica and included two full days of instruction and one fun day at the Game Reserve and way too much good food.
"The measure of leadership is not what we achieve, but who we become in the process of leading"

"What would happen if the 43,507 members baptized in the last 12 months invited others to attend church with them? Statistics show that we would have 18,272 new members."

The Mamelles Lighthouse
On the hill overlooking Senegal and standing here on this upper platform, Elder Bednar offered his dedicatory prayer in 2017 on the people and land of West Africa.
"He began the prayer in the dark with only the lighthouse still lit and showing the way." (Elder Vinson) As he completed the prayer the "ocean, shoreline and city were bathed in the clear, morning light of the risen sun".(Elder Nash)
The experience reflected the "symbolism of the gospel bringing Senegal out of darkness in to the dawning of a new day." (Edler Vinson)
